The "B" Word

One of my favorite places is no other than BORACAY, Philippines. I know, seem so typical for many Filipinos to love the place. If you think about it though, there ought to be a reason as to why it is loved by so many. Tons of weddings are held there. I myself would like to get married there for it is an amazing place. I was talking to EP the other day and we're talking about how beautiful the place is. We shared the feeling of questioning the reality of a place such as Boracay existing. You should know that one of the factors as to why I love it is that it is in the Philippines. It's definitely a place one can be proud of. Right now, there's no where else I'd rather be...
The picture above always takes my breath away. I took that pic without preparation.
Puca Beach

The finest sand... It looks and feels like powdered milk.

Reef walking was fun, but got me a little nauseated maybe 'cuz it was high tide?

Station one

Uniqueness at its finest! Fresh coconut in the middle of the sea!
I had the greatest time!

Mango shake with clever packaging.

Fire and Water

I have ugly feet, but man...that water is unbelievable.
Strolling
I like this picture.

And then comes the sunset...

I am hoping to go to the Philippines with some friends this year. Boracay will be one of the stops for sure. Haaayyy Bora...'till we meet again...

DeJa Vu of That One Post

I recently received a letter I wrote to myself back in 2002. I'm thinking this is one of the assignments I did in high school. It reads:

Dear Apple,Hey! Well, today is June 3, 2002. School's almost over and your handwriting didn't improve at all. I hope it did as of the time you receive this letter. As of this time, I hope you accomplished many things. I hope you have a job, and actually, I hope you actually have a boyfriend. Haha, how about your friends? You are still close to Voltes V, Huna, and Sherry, Chris, and Tina? Of course your bestfriend, Ruchell,- B, Besty, do you still talk to her the way you do? I hope so. Your high school was fun. I hope your relationship to V5 didn't change at all since you love them so much. Now, you're not so into things. You don't dress up much, eats a lot! Haha, I wonder if you're still the same. You're getting ready to head to Davis, getting ready to go to college. I hope you remained on the major you intended. I hope you're some scientist lady now, since I know you want that. Now, you don't have a job, are you getting paid well? Did you lose weight at all? Haha, I hope so. Mayan, you need to clean your car, your '97 Altima. Did you purchase your Accord yet? Navigator? Escalade? I hope you're not such a bum at your age now. I hope that you accomplished things, that's the bottom line. I hope you're taking care of your parents. You owe them! Okay, I'll let this go now. Take care and achieve your dreams! Love you, muah!-Apple

My present reply:Dear Apple,Not a lot has changed. However, I do want to assure you that you can relax because you actually did accomplish things. You're not some scientist who changed the world, but you are now a nurse (a nurse! Did you ever imagine that?) and you're making a difference in people's lives. You left Davis after two years because you got insanely homesick there. Though, you met some awesome people and you would not trade the experience for the world. Unfortunately, no boyfriend at the moment, but you're good because that's not a priority at the moment. Your sense of fashion is better, more open to things, but there's always room for improvement. You didn't end up with an Accord, but you're pretty happy about the car you drive now. Let's leave it at that. Your paychecks are adequate. God has been good to you because your friends remain. It can't be help that some things have changed, but you expected that right? Your life now is more complicated because as everyone knows, responsibilities increase with age. You're happy with the way things are now. Thanks for the letter because it paved the way for me to reflect. So, keep going. Never give up because the possibilities are endless...-Apple

P.S. Your handwriting is still pretty crappy and you still need to lose weight.

Click Happy

I love taking pictures. A few birthdays back, my dad got me a Canon Rebel XTi as a present. I absolutely love it! Here a a few of my favorite shots and the stories behind each.
"CITYLIFE" This picture was taken in NYC. I was actually in a moving car when I took it. I really like how the people in the picture came out a bit blurry. The picture gives a sense of "business." The clocks are a nice touch.
THE PAINTED LADIES- The girls and I decided to take a random trip to SF and play tourist.
"RED ON BLACK"- One of the first pics I took with my camera. This pic was taken in a Chinese restaurant where my family and I ate for my birthday. This was the same birthday when I got my camera.
"YELLOW CAB"- Taken in NYC. I love the "openness" of this pic.
"THE MAN BEHIND THE SHOW" One of my absolute favorite shots. This was at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. That drummer plays many "drum roll" beats.
"FOOD COURT" This picture was taken in a food court in SF. I was just playing with my camera. I was in for a surprise because it came out to be quite a shot.
THE GRAND CANYON- One of the most amazing sights I have ever seen. I especially like the contrast of the brown/red against the blue sky.
"SUNSET IN THE CANYON" Taken from The Grand Canyon. Everyone was waiting for it. It was beautiful.
"GLASS IN THE CEILING" The famous glassworks at the ceiling of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas.
"DANCING WATER" I am in awe of the fountain show in Bellagio everytime I see it.
"LV@NITE" If I remember it correctly, I took this photo while crossing the streets of Las Vegas...probably with a beer in hand.
"SMILING SHELLS" Taken in Cebu, Philippines. This was part of lunch.
"WATER ON THE ROCKS" Taken in SF after having champagne brunch in The Cliffhouse. The weather that day was absolutely fantastic.

More to come...

Mo' Money Mo' Vacas!

Imagine. That's what I do when I'm having my "I don't want to worktitis" symptoms. All it takes is the realization that unfortunately, I need the money I get from work to be able to see myself in places like Boracay, which by the way is pictured above. I'm a firm believer in working hard, and playing hard. Some people might laugh at me for saying that. I am aware of my hermit ways, but I guess, my definition of "playing hard" can be a little different. Speaking of Boracay, I must say it is one of my favorite places. It is absolutely beautiful there. I'm hoping we'll meet again this year and the world shall again witness a genuinely happy me. I can't wait.

Saw this pic on a new found blog I loved. The website is heart-2-heart-online.com thanks to Chuvaness, of course. Anyways this picture just cracked me up and it's all because of that shirt!
