I Can't Quit You

I get a lot of shit! Lots of it! For sticking to my good ol' Nokia N95. I somehow feel like I need to justify my unwilling tech savvy self to go with the Blackberry Iphone Droid flow. I admit, the temptation is there, but somehow I still find myself appreciating the N95 and then realizing the unnecessary need to move on, phone wise.

I purchased my N95 more than a year ago and it was a match made in heaven.

Why I'm still hooked:

-The speakers of this phone are fantastic. It has amazing sound. I even use the music player feature in the bathroom as I shower. The sound is clear and loud, no muffling.

- 5 megapixel camera that allows you to take pics in multiple settings: night shot, close-up, portrait, landscape, and sports. It also allows you to set the white balance, color tone, and even ISO.

Another cool feature is the self-timer camera, burst option (takes 6 images continuously or until memory runs out), and if network allows, it also has video calls.

-Phone memory is 8GB

-Because the memory is huge, the phone can hold lots of data.

-Video wise, it can capture a movie for as long as ONE HOUR! The only downside is that it's not HD, but GE (good enough). But seriously, this feature is the one that's stopping me from buying a Flip cam. The N95 allows me to take the same amount of video time with a larger memory and I can easily send that file to my mac via bluetooth. Super convenient!

-The number pads- I am super super used to it. My texts are almost flawless with this device!

-Video out- I can easily play my videos from the phone or videos from the net (ex YouTube) on a TV.

-I used to not know how to upload pics to FB from my N95, but with all the software and app updates, I was able to fix that.

I'm sure lots of phones out there can match all of these features, but as of now, my N95 is STILL reliable and I'm not going to fix what is not broke.

The only thing I don't like about the phone is that it does not have WORDS WITH FRIENDS!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the itouch and iphone, but as of now, I'm stagnant.

Starring: The Vintage GC and the Perfect Day

I graduated last June 2008 and MS gave me the best gift. She gave me a gift certificate for a full body massage. I remember being ecstatic! I mean, for goodness gracious, who doesn't LOVE a massage? I was so excited to use it! Then comes 2010 and it's still unredeemed by me.

I really don't know why I didn't use it sooner, but most likely, the NCLEX was the culprit. Damn, you NCLEX! But, I passed it, so no grudge. Now, listen. I USED THE SACRED VINTAGE GC LAST WEDNESDAY!

... and it was HEAVEN!

My goodness, it was just what I needed. I came out of that damn place a new person... well, an oily ass new person. Oily, solely because the massage is not a dry one. Is it me or no matter how I justify the "oily" part... it just doesn't sound right? Ah, whatever, it felt good. Sue me! (or, just clear that gunk off your head... or should I do that?) Ok... moving on to my perfect day.

The Kabuki Spa is located around Japan Town so the next thing I did was...

Oh, yes...

Blue Bottle Mocha! Oooo... what's the design on my drink? Looks like a seahorse? Fallopian tubes? Camel? Marcelo del Pilar's mustache? Hmm... I'm stumped.  After two minutes of silent thoughts about what the pattern is, I eventually gave up and my lips met delicious!

Oh, let's do a rewind to further proof that my last Wednesday was indeed a perfect day.

I went to San Francisco extremely early. Well, I got there at 0900. Hey, that is extreme! Candice, Charmagne, Heather, Maria, and I went to breakfast at...

Dotties is very popular in SF; I found out why.

Corn bread with jalapeno jelly was delish!

This was perfect. Poached eggs never fail!

 Such great company!

After breakfast, Candice, Charmagne and I watched a movie! It was a blast! Then, if you want to know what happened after the movie, just read the beginning of this post again. A day off well spent! Thanks, ladies *muah!

ProdLove at First Sight

It's my weekend off (can I get a woo-hoo?) WOO-HOO! I just saw ASAP Xv. It's their 15th year anniversary this week and it was fantastic. However, I can't seem to get over how impressive this prod was. The music was absolutely perfect. I love how they skillfully position themselves on those frames. The moves were so apt to the beat (for example: the "scissor feet" move).

The fact that Kim and Ge are both in the prod was a bonus.

Look, I am not saying this is the new Cirque de Soleil; I just think it's clever and well done. Well, Jake was a bit awkward in the beginning, but let's cut him some slack. Ok, enough blabber. Watch it. Now na!

We are Not the Same; He is a Martian.

Look, I am FULLY aware of the bad words, FULLY aware of the belittling comments about women, FULLY aware of the unwanted scenarios you would not want to imagine, BUT, I am also aware of the man's cleverness. You have to admit it, he is CLEVER, a clever "martian" that is. From my past blog post, I mentioned that I am a huge fan of his album Tha Carter III, but now I'm way past that.

He says he's "Ill, not sick..." Well, you know what, I agree.

 Now, make it rain...

Blow-up Coolness!

By now, many of my friends are aware of my fondness for Philippine Showbiz, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu in particular. I've met fellow fans from the Philippines who've become good friends of mine via the internet. I also had a chance to meet up with some when I went to the Philippines for a vaca. I was asked to design a "layout" for a roving billboard for  "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo;" it's a telerserye starring Kim and Gerald. Here's my design:

Here's the RBB with Kim and Gerald themselves:

I just thought it was kind of cool...

Kudos to those who put in their inputs on the design (Auie, Beng, Resty). Thanks for trusting my very amateur skills.
